since when is the Mad Hatter a Villain?

I was wondering that myself. I guess since he was kind of the bad guy in the present day scenes in his first episode.

I guess but I wouldn’t put him with these villains, I just feel it’s rude to put him with these big old villains. B/c the others were villains in OUAT and in Original stories (Well besides Pan, Disney Pan) but to me the Mad Hatter was just Crazy Mad.

Well, as Schmacky said, he did kidnap people at gun point and worked with Rumple and Victor to make Regina think her fiance could be brought back to life and that whole jazz…..

I’d switch Hatter out with Maleficent.

The important part of this that Once has shown us time and time again that this show is about choices. We’ve seen people like Rumpel, Regina, Zelena, Killian, etc. have the potential to use their powers or abilities for good. But they made the choice to go the evil route. Even people like David, Snow, Neal, and others made bad choices. I think what makes a “villain” is to continue to make those choices. It’s why Regina is different from say King George. She’s making an effort to change while he never did.
